Job Purpose
To facilitate a BITE stream portfolio of agreed solutions in alignment to the 3 Year plans for the company reflecting customer demand and the group Managed Evolution Strategy. This is done through directing the resources responsible for delivery of the portfolio of transform; run and change the business initiatives directing both business advancement and technology advancement in accordance with a co-created integrated BITE stream scorecard.
Job Responsibilities
- With a total team compliment of approximately 100 permanent staff members, key responsibilities of the Head of the Head of Business IT Enablement (BITE) include:
- Overseeing all systems, gathering of development requirement (business and process analysis), support and maintenance (including new developments and ongoing enhancements) of our core Policy Administration and peripheral systems.
- Management and oversight of vendors as well as Third party systems.
- Ensuring accurate and timeous data provisioning (including data governance and driving business wide adoption through report enablement) in accordance to Group standards and principles
- Construction, maintenance and enhancements of digital capabilities enabling end-to-end quoting, fulfilment and self-service propositions across internal & external channels in collaboration with the Group's Digital team.
- Process enhancements and unlocking business efficiencies through focused robotic and AI driven automation efforts.
- Ensure holistic IT Risk Management (including Cyber)
- Contributing to the overall strategic direction of the business and achieving its vision through IT enablement.
- The function is dependent on, and works extremely closely with the Wealth Cluster and Group's overall Technology functions, leveraging strong relationships across a multitude of stakeholders to ensure ongoing alignment and support. In addition, the position manages and steers the relationships with all external IT partners.
People Specification
- Prospective applicants must hold extensive (10 years +) senior management and leadership IT experience (financial services sector experience is advantageous) as well as be able to demonstrate a solid delivery track record.
- Thought leadership on insurance eco-systems, platform enablement as well as automation, robotics and digital delivery is a key requirement.
- Experience in strategic planning and agile execution as well as oversight of large, complex programmes is critical.
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
- Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
Preferred Qualification
- B Degree (B.Sc., B.Comm, B.Tech IT)
- Senior Management Programme or equivalent
- MBA or equivalent
- Formal certification from relevant professional bodies.
Minimum Experience Level
10 - 15 years' experience in IT delivery and senior business leadership roles of which 5 years in project delivery with multiple major (R50m+) projects delivered.
